Beautiful Dungeon

I was a princess locked up in a tower
The nights were long and darkness was my friend
There weren't any windows and I couldn't really breathe
But it was all I knew

Something inside me was stirring and yearning
I didn't know why I felt that way
I thought I was safe and had everything
But I couldn't wait for a glimpse of the day

No evil fiend could frighten me there
Three meals a day and familiar surroundings

Then I saw it through the hole you made
When you tore the bricks away
The light came flooding in and I saw the day

You came, my Prince on a stallion
You came and you rode right in
You found me there and you showed me the way
From my beautiful dungeon
Into uncertainty-
But you set me free
You set me free to be me.
