This is Me

So many people demanding a different part of me
So many things to do which take my time and energy
Faced with choices and decisions, not knowing where to turn
Sometimes all I want to do is run

Taking time to catch my breath
I'm slowing down now, and wondering
Why I forgot to check with my heart
Before I took life onto my shoulders

Maybe I'm young, but at least I've got time
To learn that everything's gonna be fine
I don't need to be someone that I'm not
The world needs real people, so I'm giving it all I've got
